This device boils a quart of water in just four minutes--faster than a stovetop kettle or microwave oven. Add ground coffee or tea leaves and insert the screen assembly, and it becomes a French press for making full-flavored coffee or tea. This eliminates a step--pouring boiling water and losing heat while doing so--from the usual method of preparing French press coffee or tea. The glass carafe lifts free of the power base to become a cordless server for the dining table. Designed with care, the device is durable (stainless-steel press assembly, rugged plastic) and thoughtfully engineered (steam-activated automatic shutoff when water boils, knuckle guard on carafe, cord wrap beneath base).
